Suburban water heaters are known for their porcelain lined steel tanks, a high powered burner, fast recovery and ease of use thanks to the electronic ignition. This water heater has a 12V DC ignitor, operating on LPG gas with the user being able to control operation by means of an internal switch. Suburban uses a porcelain lined, steel tank with an anode rod to absorb the corrosive action caused by hot water. This sacrificial, magnesium anode rod equalizes aggressive water action providing cathodic protection for the interior of the tank. Frequency of anode replacement will vary depending on the water conditions and usage, however it should be checked annually. With a burner rating of 12,000 BTU (approx 4kw) and a recovery rate of 40L per hour, its the fastest in the industry. All Suburban water heaters are designed for easy operation and maintenance. The limit switch, reset button and combination drain plug/anode rod are conveniently located in a housing behind the removable outer door, making service a breeze.
