At first it wouldn't work on the 45kg gas bottles which is the reason for purchasing the gadget. It worked fine on the new 9kg bottles on the caravan but not with an older 9kg bottle. It seems the difference between these seemed to be the rougher texture of the older bottle. When the 45kg bottles were tested again when there was a film of condensation on the surface the detector works excellently.
