This sacrificial, magnesium anode rod equalizes aggressive water action providing cathodic protection for the interior of the tank. Frequency of anode replacement will vary depending on the water conditions and usage, however it should be checked annually. With a burner rating of 12,000 BTU (approx 4kw) and a recovery rate of 40L per hour, its the fastest in the industry. All Suburban water heaters are designed for easy operation and maintenance.
